温度を明るさや色に置き換えた赤外線カメラの画。熱い物ほど明るく光る。
視覚的特徴
- 見える光ではなく温度を明るさや色で表す。熱は広がるので形の輪郭が柔らかい
- アイアンボウの段階：冷たい所は黒と紫、赤・橙・黄を経て、いちばん熱い所が白
- グレーの表示では、熱い所が白（ホワイトホット）か黒（ブラックホット）になる
- 画面全体にかすかなセンサーのノイズがあり、端に温度の目盛りが付くことが多い
